This is how we cook it
Cookies are one of the most typical Christmas desserts. And, best of all, they like everyone. Therefore,
today we are going to teach you how to make this recipe, and thus be able to
make Christmas cookies with children. How to make Christmas cookies? Let's do it!
- To start this simple
recipe, gather all
the ingredients to make the dough. If you want to make the cinnamon gingerbread cookies, you must add a pinch of each of
the spices. Remember that the ginger will add a spicy touch to the cookie.
In the same way, you can make the recipe only with cinnamon or without any
of the spices, the result will be very good.
- If you have a food processor you can put all the ingredients in the
glass and mix it well for about 20 or 25 seconds. This task can also be done by hand. First, mix the butter and sugar in a bowl.
You can do it with a whisk rod. Then you add the egg, and finally the
flour. You will have to work the dough with a spoon and then with your
hand until you get a consistent dough.
- Wrap
the dough for our Christmas cookie
recipe in transparent film and let it rest for 15 minutes in the refrigerator.
- With this amount of
ingredients, you can
cut the dough into three equal parts. Take one of the parts and reserve the other
two wrapped in plastic wrap in the refrigerator.
- Now you need to roll out the dough. To do this, place it between two plastics
and, with a roller, roll it out so that it is the same thickness, between 5 and 8 mm. Your little ones can help you knead with the
rolling pin. When it's
spread out, put them in the freezer for 8 minutes.
- Meanwhile, put the oven into operation and preheat it to
180 degrees, and on the
other, place parchment paper on the trays.
- Now is the time to cut the dough with the pasta cutters, which can also be done easily by children.
Use Christmas molds like stars, a Christmas tree, or Santa
Claus.
- When the shapes are
done, place them on the previously prepared baking sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes at 180 degrees. Remove them from the oven and
let them cool.
Now comes the most fun for the little ones in the house: decorating our Christmas cookies.
- To make the frosting or homemade fondant, mix the egg white, sugar, and lemon drops.
You can mix it all in the food processor or by hand with the whisk.
- Place the mixture in
several bowls, depending on the number of colors you want to prepare. Then
you just have to add the drops of colorants to each of the jars and mix
everything well.
- Put
each color in a disposable piping bag.
- When the cookies have
cooled, your kids can decorate
them with whatever frosting they want. Let them dry and these quick
and easy cookies will be ready to eat or store. They keep quite well in a
can for up to two weeks.
